UC San Diego Addresses and Building Names
The UC San Diego main campus shifted from using 9500 Gilman Drive as the only official address to adopt a standardized addressing model—like what you’d find in a town or community of a similar size to our campus—and to identify specific campus locations with individual addresses while maintaining overall campus unity. Campus addresses:
- Help people find buildings and landmarks more easily with improved campus signage
- Improve internal operations and processes, including emergency response
- Align with San Diego County’s NextGen 911 technology to allow easier re-routing of 9-1-1 calls to first responders during disasters or emergencies to improve their ability to respond quickly with the appropriate resources
Resident students, staff and faculty should use building addresses for wayfinding purposes and use passenger loading zones for ride-hailing trips.
Shipping Addresses
- Goods – To ensure accurate, timely and environmentally responsible delivery of shipments to campus locations, continue to use the preferred addressing guidelines prescribed by Integrated Procure-to-Pay Solutions (IPPS). Visit the Logistics Receiving and Distribution Blink page for guidance and more information on the benefits of avoiding direct deliveries to campus.
- Services – For contracting services, use the direct address in Oracle to ensure suppliers have an accurate location for work to be performed.
- Student Mail – See Addressing Packages and Mail in Tritonlink.
